Nicole, our summer-turned-fall Environmental Education Assistant, has finished local insect collections development. In triplicate! That means three lucky elementary schools will now have collections which reflect the insects that are found in their school yards and nearby natural areas. Nicole's work involved publication review, field work, lab time and oh so much patience. It's a phenomenal example of place and project based learning in action, while providing 350 elementary learners with a relevant, outdoor education resource.
